Bangladesh and Indiaon Thursdaydiscussed the Rohingya issue in details in New Delhi and shared their respective positions over the issue as Dhaka wants sustainable return of all Rohingyas to their homeland.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque met his Indian counterpart
S Jaishankarand discussed the issue apart from other bilateral ones. They discussed two specific issues-Rohingya crisis and visit of Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Bangladesh, BBC Bangla reported quoting unnamed source.
Haque who reached New Delhion Tuesday also discussed possible dates for the visit of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to Dhaka for a joint consultative commission meeting.
Though there is no announcement over the visit officially yet, the BBC Bangla report claimed the Indian Minister is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka onOctober 23. Over 5 lakh Rohingyas have crossed the border from Myanmar’s Rakhine state to Bangladesh sinceAugust 25.
