Communications Minister Obaidul Quader today said the Dhaka-Chittagong four-lane highways project to be ended by December. He told reporters after a delegation of the projects’ construction company Sinohydro called on him at his office, a press release said.
The minister said a six-member committee led by additional secretary of Highways Department is formed to speed up the work of Sinohydro’s 7 packages to 10 packages.
Quader said the construction work of the 232 culverts among 244 and 15 bridges among 23 have already been completed under the project. Forty percent of three rail-overpass has completed and two bypass among 14 has done. The construction work of other bypass is done 50 percent.
Highways Department Secretary MAN Siddique and high officials of the department were present on the occasion.
