Bangladesh has expressed deep concern at the recent announcement by the United States recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Bangladesh stressed on preserving the legal status of Jerusalem within the framework of relevant UN resolutions, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry here on Thursday.
Bangladesh reaffirmed its position in favour of establishing the State of Palestine on the basis of the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Bangladesh urged all parties concerned to take a pragmatic approach to the Middle East Peace Process in reaching a two state solution for peace and stability in the region.
