Dhaka Army Archery Club clinched the men’s team event title and ASPTS won the women’s team event title of the GP 8th National Traditional Archery Championship beating their opponents in the respective finals at the Archery Training Centre of Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Tuesday.
In the men’s event, Dhaka Army Archery Club, represented by Jewel Khan, Delwar Hossain and Nurul Islam, beat Bangladesh Ansar, comprising Belal Hossain, Saidul Islam and Nazmul Islam, by 6-2 sets in the final to win the gold medal.
In the women’s event, ASPTS Archery Club, comprising Saima Akhter, Eti Moni and Surma Akhter, defeated Dhaka Army Archery Club by 5-3 sets in the final to win the event’s gold medal.
In the mixed doubles, Dhaka Army Archery Club, with the team of Delwar Hossain and Kajal, clinched the gold medal beating Shahabuddin and Saima Akhter of ASPTS 6-0 sets in the final.
Besides, Belal Hossain of Bangladesh Ansar emerged as men’s individual champions while Shamina Akhter of the same team emerged women’s individual champion in the traditional division.
