Bangladesh has a very favorable environment and policies for foreign investments and Turkey can tap such opportunities, Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal FCA, MP made the observation while leading a delegation of Bangladesh in a meeting of Bangladesh-Turkey Joint Economic Commission held at Istanbul on Thursday, said a press release on Saturday.
Planning Minister is leading a delegation of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Planning to Turkey and the UK starting from Thursday up to 31 January. Main objective of the visit is to observe public procurement systems of Turkey and the UK to acquire practical experiences in practices prevailing in those countries with specific reference to digitization of their procurement procedures.
The international exposure visit has been organized under the auspices of the World Bank financed Digitization Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project (DIMAPPP). It is now being implemented by Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division, Ministry of Planning.
Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and Chairman, Bangladesh-Turkey Joint Economic Commission Bekir Bozdag led the Turkish side. The Planning Minister also discussed the issue of Rohingya people who have taken shelter inside Bangladesh to save their lives from the torture of Myanmar military.
