Dhaka Abahani to leave for Kolkata today

Dhaka Abahani Limited will leave the city today for Kolkata to take part in the play-off match of AFC Cup against ATK Mohun Bagan at Kolkata, the former capital city of India on April 19.
Earlier, Dhaka Abahani Limited got walkover against Valencia Club of Maldives in their preliminary round match at Sylhet District Stadium on April 12.
On the other hand, ATK Mohun Bagan blanked Blue Star Club of Sri Lanka by five goals to nil in their preliminary round match at Kolkata on April 12.
The winners of the play-off match between Dhaka Abahani Limited and ATK Mohun Bagan will get ticket to play the Group-D matches of the AFC Cup. The Group-D matches of the AFC Cup will be held at Kolkata from May 18 to May 24. The matches will be held on round-robin league basis. The highest point taker team will be the champions of the Group-D. The champions of the Group-D will play in the final round of AFC Cup.
Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh, Gokulam Kerela FC of India and Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of Maldives have already confirmed their Group-D berth.
If the stipulated ninety-minute game of the play-off match between Dhaka Abahani Limited and ATK Mohun Bagan ends in a draw, the match will turn into extra time. If the extra time match ends in a draw, the fate of the match will be decided in the penalty shoot-out.
Earlier, Dhaka Abahani Limited lost to ATK Mohun Bagan by 1-3 goals in their away match of the AFC Cup at Kolkata in 2017.
