Abahani Limited, Dhaka continued their winning run in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football when they defeated old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 2-1 goals was held on Saturday at Sylhet district Stadium in Sylhet.
In the day’s match, forward Mehedi Hasan Royal and midfielder Jewel Rana scored one goal each for the Abahani Limited team, who led the first half by 2-0 goals. Midfielder Mezabah Uddin netted the lone goal for Rahmatganj.
 Abahani Limited launched attack early and got the reap when Royal scored the first goal for his team in the 13th minute as Jewel doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Abahani Limited in the 22nd minute of the match.
After the resumption, Rahmatganj were desperately trying to stage a fight back in the match but failed to put any effective pressure on Abahani’s packed defense.
Rahmatganj’s midfielder Mezabah Uddin, however, able to reduce the margin scoring a lone goal in the dying moment of the match.
 With the day’s victory, the sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited, who stands at second position in the league table, collected 31 points from 14 matches while the Rahmatganj remained at their previous collection of 10 points playing the same number of matches.
In the other match,Saif Sporting Club moved up fourth position in the league table as they managed a hard-fought solitary goal victory over Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football was held at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
 After the barren first half, defender Mohammad Riyadul Hasan Rafi finally broke the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Saif SC in the 61st minute of the match and they maintained the lead till the final whistle.
Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra who have been struggling to improve their position in the league table, however, tried heart and soul to stage a fight back in the match but could not convert any in the remaining proceeding.
The day’s win, Saif Sporting Club improved their tally with 24 points from 14 matches while Sheikh Russel who failed to utilize their home ground advantage on the day remained at their previous credit of 14 points playing the same number of matches.
