Dhaka Abahani Limited beat Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 4-3 goals in their match of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Monday.
Dhaka Abahani Limited have taken the second position in the points table grabbing 25 points from 12 matches, while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra have taken the 11th position earning seven points from 12 matches.
Muktijoddha Sangsad got the lead in the 34th minute by a penalty kick.
After the lemon-break, Muktijoddha made it 2-0 in the 51st minute of the match.
Abahani’s Costa Rican recruit Daniel Colindres reduced the margin (1-2) in the 65th minute of the game.
After one minute, Rakib Hasan of Dhaka Abahani Limited leveled the margin.
Abahani’s Brazilian recruit Raphael Augusto made it 3-2 in the 75th minute of the match.
After five minutes, Rakib Hasan increased the tally into 4-2.
Muktijoddha reduced the margin in the injury time of the second half.
BSS adds: Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra failed to take their home ground advantage as they, despite taking lead, were forced to play a 1-1 goal draw by ten men Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in their match of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football, which was held on Monday at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
In the day’s match, Jewel gave Sheikh Russel KC a deserving 22nd minute lead which they maintained till the 87th minute.
At one stage, it was seemed that Sheikh Russel KC were going to win the match, but it was Mohammedan’s Jafar who broke the heart of Sheikh Russel’s fans scoring a much-needed goal in the 88th minute of the match, denying Sheikh Russel’s victory.
Sujon of Mohammedan was shown red card by the referee following his double yellow cards in the match.
With the day’s outcome, Mohammedan bagged 18 points from 12 matches, while Sheikh Russel KC collected 11 points playing the same number of matches.
