A further drive to stop operation of illegal diagnostic centres and clinics will be started from today (Monday).
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will launch the fresh raid against unlicensed hospitals, diagnostic centres and clinics across the country aiming to stop wrong medical treatment of the patients.
“The instructions would be given to all concerned to conduct the drive. The operation will be the same as it was done three months ago,” Dr. Ahmedul Kabir, DGHS Additional Director General (Administration) said it on Sunday.
The ADG of the DGHS said, “Earlier, campaigns were conducted within 72 hours. But this time we will conduct it for 96 hours.”
“We will sit next Saturday or Sunday for summarising of the operation,” Dr. Ahmedul Kabir said.
The DGHS official said that the Health Minister has taken the matter strictly and seriously.
“The Health Minister has asked us to run the operation more robustly than the previous one,” he said.
As per the data of the DGHS, about 1,641 health care facilities were closed in the last campaign.
As a result of the operation, revenue of Tk 25 crore was generated from the registration application.
Meanwhile, about 1,986 other health facilities are to be examined for new licenses.
Besides, 2,017 more medical installations are to be inspected for renewing their licenses.
