Bangladesh on Wednesday reported 16 more deaths from novel coronavirus, raising the total number of death to 5,593.
Meanwhile, positive cases reached 3,82,959 with the detection of 1,684 more virus infected cases.
A total of 14,411 samples were tested in last 24 hours where 1,684 found positive for the virus.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Wednesday afternoon.
In the past 24 hours, some 1,576 more patients were declared free from the virus, taking the total number of recovered cases to 2,97,449. Of the dead, 15 died at different hospitals and one at home while 13 were male and three were female. On Tuesday, 22 died from COVID-19 in Bangladesh.
