DGHS Director (Hospital) to be transferred

In the row of severe criticism over Covid-19 tests, Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan, Director (Hospital) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), is now being removed from the post.
The development came after resignation of Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, on Tuesday, the Director General of DGHS amid the widespread criticism.
Replying to a query about removal of Director (Hospital) Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan, Health Minister Zahid Maleque told journalists that not only the director (Hospital), the government will take stern actions
 after scrutinizing against those units which are involved in irregularities.
Meanwhile, sources said that Health Secretary Abdul Mannan had signed the file of hospital director’s removal.
Replying to query of journalists, Health Secretary said, “Let’ us see. Steps may be taken to replace him, immediately.” Sources said, the government is taking tougher actions against the persons related with recent scams surrounding the health ministry and DGHS.
Officials said that such actions are being taken as the DGHS has become the centre of criticism of recent scams in Covid-19 testing and treatment.
The ministry has inked agreement to render medical treatment of Covid-19 patients with infamous Regent Hospital, which has not renewed its licence after 2014. The hospital issued huge number of Covid-19 test reports without testing. Besides, the DGHS also being cricised for the illegal activities of JKG health care center.
It has collected samples to test coronavirus infectios from people’s houses in exchange of money, despite no trade licence or the permission to test the infection.
