The upazila administration of Dewanganj in the Jamalpur district has provided grants to the family of Nahid Mia, who was killed in a train robbery. On the other hand, Mymensingh Railway Police arrested one person in connection to this robbery.
Acting UNO Munmun Jahan Liza handed over the check for the grant. At that time, a heartbreaking scene took place when the food items were handed over to the family. The donation check was received by the deceased’s mother Hanufa Khatun and wife Bipasha Begum.
The deceased was identified as Nahid Mia, son of Waheed Mia of Sanandabari Mitali Bazar in Dewanganj upazila. He worked for the Nestle Company. The couple was caught by robbers in the Gafargaon-Mymensingh area on their way home on a commuter train on Thursday night after spending two days off a week. At that time, the robbers stabbed Nahid and Sagar and some others in Bagerhata area of Jamalpur municipality and took away their belongings. Nahid and Sagar died in it.
Hanufa Khatun, mother of the deceased Sagar, filed the case at Mymensingh Railway Police Station on Friday night.
