Development of nation not possible without education

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that without education, development of any nation was not possible as development alone was the key for progress for the country.
“The present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina puts maximum importance on education and has given the highest allocation for the education sector in the budget of the current fiscal,” he said.
Muhith said this on Thursday after inaugurating the new academic building of Nurul Huda High School built at a cost of Taka 2.95 crore at a function held on the school ground in Parbotipur upazila of Dinajpur as the chief guest.
Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mustafizur Rahman Fizar and former Secretary to the Economic Relations Division and Chairman of Anirban Bangladesh Lutfullahil Majid addressed the function as special guests.
Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur Abu Naeem Md Abdus Sabur, Superintendent of Police Hamidul Alam, Parbotipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rehanul Haque, Assistant Superintendent of Police Rafiqul Islam, among others, were present with chairman of the school governing committee A M Muhammad Nurul Anam in the chair.
Terming parents as the best friends of the students, the Finance Minister urged the parents to become friends of their children, give them time and encourage them as inspiration leads a man far and wide.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina puts due emphasis on the education sector and the rate of literacy has increased and quality of education improved in the country during the past ten years,” he said.
He laid importance on further improving quality of education and produce properly educated, skilled and worthy citizens for building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
