Speakers at a training course have stressed for development of children and flourishing their leadership quality from childhood in turning them into ideal citizens to lead the nation in future by imparting all human values in them.
They were addressing concluding ceremony of the five-day training course on ‘Child Development and Leadership- 2014’ at Khwajapur Government Primary School in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Tuesday afternoon.
World Vision Bangladesh (WVB), an NGO, under its Fulbari Annual Development Programme (ADP) organised the training course for preserving child rights, development and flourishing leadership of the children to make them ideal citizens for the future.
Twenty-five children leaders of Eluari union unit of Shishu Forum, who are students of different primary, junior and secondary level schools of the union under Fulbari upazila participated in the training course.
Acting Manager of Fulbari ADP of the NGO Badal Sangma attended the inaugural and concluding ceremonies as the chief guest with its Programme Officer Lal Thoai Bom in the chair.
Trainers Zakir Hossaine and Abu Hannan from Thengamara Mohila Sabuz Sangha (TMSS) of Bogra conducted the training course and also addressed the concluding ceremony as the special guests.
A number of participating male and female children also addressed the concluding ceremony narrating the knowledge and experience they gathered from the training course. The trainers provided knowledge to the participating children leaders on category of children, influence of the environment on their development and flourishing leadership and talent, child rights convention and role of Shishu Forum and its activities.
Besides, they discussed various issues like role of families in flourishing and development of children, especially female children, who might be leaders, virtues of the leaders, responsibilities of the leaders, types of leadership, child leadership and child welfare activities in the training course.
The chief guest said that the acquired knowledge and experience from the training course would definitely help the participants in flourishing their leadership capabilities to uphold and preserve the child rights for promoting child leadership and envelopment.
