The move is the first of its kind as the labs will facilitate innovations driven by community, making the labs more locally driven as compared to other innovative approaches.
This lab is part of the global Disasters and Emergencies Preparedness Programme (DEPP) labs which aims to increase preparedness and resiliency of disaster-prone communities in Bangladesh as well as identify innovations within the tacit indigenous knowledge and local wisdom, topping this up with appropriate scientific inputs.
This programme is supported by UK Aid and managed collaboratively by the Communications with Disaster Affected Communities (CDAC) and Start Networks.
