People of Sylhet city are suffering a lot due to the unending development works upgrading the sewerage system.
They urged the concern authorities to finish the development works as early as possible.
Mentionable, the authorities are constructing culverts and drains at different areas of the divisional city for ensuring smooth movement of water to resolve the waterlogging crisis.

Mentionable, Sylhet City Corporation is implementing the Tk 25 crore Sylhet City Infrastructural Development Project which is scheduled to end by 2020, said SCC chief engineer Nur Azizur Rahman.
But, alleged, city dwellers, in many areas the road communication has been totally disrupted due to the unplanned construction of culverts on the main roads.
City businessmen alleged that they are facing huge losses for the low presence of customer.
At Bandarbazar area, the commercial hub of the divisional city, a box culvert is being constructed during last one month, disrupting movement of vehicles totally. Like Bandarbazar, many important city business areas have been paralysed due to the ongoing development work.
With the Eid approaching just one and a half months later, the traders of the city are worried over their trading prospects during the main business period of the year.
They are confused whether the ongoing construction of culverts and drains would be finished before the biggest religious festival. If the situation remains the same during the Eid also, it would be another blow to us beside the rain.
Salam Uddin, a businessman from Zindabazar, said due to the construction work our sale is declining in every month.
