Dev fairs begin in dists

A three -day Development Fair- 2018 has started in district headquarter and upazilas on January 11-13 to highlight on going development activities and success of the government.
Kishoreganj District Administration arranged the fair at local stadium in the town and a colourful rally was brought out marking the fair.
The fair has been playing an important role in promoting governments future plans, partnering people in implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A discussion meeting on development role model of Sheikh Hasina : Bangladesh was held at local stadium fair stage on Thursday morning with Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas in the chair.
Additional Health Secretary Roksana Kader attended as chief and special guest on the programme.
It was addressed among others by Zila Parishad Chairman Adv Md. Zillur Rahman as special guest, Acting Police Super Nazmul Islam, Deputy Director & Deputy Secretary of Local Government Md. Zohirul Islam, Poura Mayor Md. Parvez Miah, Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, ADC (Education & ICT) Golam Mohammad Bhuiyan, Shatabdir Khanta Editor Ahmadullah, senior journalist Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu and NDC Shamima Yesmin were present .
At least 135 development stalls were set-up in fair.

Before inauguration the fair a discussion meeting was held in BograZilaschool premises presided over Deputy CommissionerNur-e- AlamSiddiqee while FaridUddinAhmmed, secretary of home ministry was speaking as chief guest.
After inauguration of the fair along with prime ministration additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC)SufiaNazim, addition district magistrate AbdusSamad, president of district Awami League Alhaj Momtaj Uddin and higher official of DC office visited different stalls from 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM and exchanges views and greetings.
BSS from Khulna adds: A three-day “Development Fair-2018” aimed at sharing all information about development activities kicked off in the city yesterday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the countrywide “Development Fair-2018” through video conference from the capital.
Organised by Khulna district administration, Fisheries and Live Stock Minister Naryan Chandra Chanda inaugurated the fair as the chief guest in front of Khulna Circuit House.
Chaired by Khulna deputy commissioner Amin-ul-Ahsan, Parliement member Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur- Rashid, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Lokman Hossain Mia, DIG of Police’s Khulna Range Didar Ahmed, Additional Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mahbub Hakim, addressed the function as special guests, among others.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, chief guest Naryan Chandra Chanda said, Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is marching forward in many sectors of socio economic area which are the wonders to the world people.
He said the main purpose of the fair is to display various development activities of present government before the people.
“Nobody in the world now consider Bangladesh as a country of natural disasters, corruption and poverty any more. It has now become a model of development,” Chanda said. The minister said the present government has taken initiatives to become a middle income country where poverty will completely be eradicated by 2021.
A total of 120 stalls have been set up in the fair. The fair will open from 9 am and go on till 10 pm everyday alongside discussion meeting, cultural programme including local song (Potgun) related with development by the present government.
Architect of Independent Bangladesh and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman built the high mud killa (fort) after visiting cyclone- hit areas in Bhola in 1970. The then high mud killa now known as “Mujib Killa”
