A 3-day long ‘Development Fair’ on overall success of the present government in different sectors will begin on the premises of Independence Square here from yesterday(Monday) .
District administration sources said the government has taken a decision to conduct publicity programme in district and upazila headquarters across the country on social and economical achievements of Bangladesh during the session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in the USA from September 28-30.
During the time, Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina would have joined the UNGA and addressed there upholding the development activities of the country achieved in the last six years and a half, sources said.
At the directive of the PM office, the development fair in district level would be held on the premises of Independence Square in Gaibandha on September 28, 29 and 30 in 2015 to keep pace with the tour and lecture session of the PM in UNGA, sources added.
Earlier, a series of programmes have been chalked out in a preparatory meeting held at the conference room of the district collectorate building here on September 14 with deputy commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad in the chair aimed at holding the fair here successfully from September 28 to 30, said Abu Sufian, nezarat deputy collector.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: A three-day ‘Development Fair- 2015’ is going to be held for the first time in the city aims at highlighting the present government’s success relating to the economic and social development yesterday.
The fair organized by District Administration will be held at the green plaza of Rajshahi City Corporation where more than 36 government and associate development organizations will showcase their development achievements in separate stalls.
Before the inaugural session, a colourful rally will be held from Rajshahi College premises and that will end at the fair venue after parading some thoroughfares.
Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury addressed the briefing as focal person. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Fazley Rabbi and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rev) Ataul Ghani supplemented him.
