A Brahmanbaria court on Tuesday denied bail to Rasraj Das, who was detained after the attacks on Hindu community in Nasirnagar in the district. Ismail Hossain, district judge of Brahmanbaria, passed the order after rejecting a bail petition.
The court also fixed January 16 for the next hearing.
On October30, some unruly people demolished 15 Hindu temples and vandalised over 100 houses in the upazila following a Facebook post that allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the Muslim community. Police arrested Rasraj Das, son of Jagannath Das from Harinberh village under Haripur Union Parishad, immediately after the allegation of blasphemy had surfaced against him.
