The High Court on Monday denied the bail petition of Destiny Group Director Lt Col (retd) Didarul Alam in a money laundering case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
A virtual bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukdar passed the order and shifted the bail petition to a normal bench of HC after
vacations, said Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin and Assistant Attorney General Kazi Shamsun Nahar stood for the state. Advocate Md Khurshid Alam Khan and MA Aziz Khan represented the ACC while advocate Moinul Hossain stood for the petitioner.
The HC directed to file the bail plea with a normal bench of HC otherwise after 30-days, Amin Uddin said.
ACC filed the case with Kalabagan Police Station accusing 22 people on July 31, 2012. According to the statement, Destiny Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited and Destiny Tree Plantation laundered Tk 1,178.61 crore from 2009 to 2013.
