Despite Mushfiqur Rahim’s century Bangladesh lost to India by six wickets in their match of the Asia Cup at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Wednesday.Skipper Virat Kohli led his team from the frontline making a terrific 136. His 122-ball knock was studded with 16 boundaries and two over boundaries.AM Rahane was the other successful batsman for India who hit a superb 73 from 83 balls with seven fours and a six. Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 279 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 50 overs.In rely, India sailed home making 280 for the loss of four wickets when they had six balls to spare.Ziaur Rahman, Shohag Gazi, Abdur Razzak and Rubel Hossain took one wicket apiece.Earlier, Bangladesh made a shaky start losing their early two wickets for 49 runs.Then opener Anamul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim salvaged their team from calamity contributing together 133 runs for the third wicket partnership before Ananul Haque was cleanly bowled out by Varun Aaron when the teams total was 182 for the loss of three wickets.After dismissal of Anamul, Mushfiqur Rahim alone fought back making a brilliant 117. His 113-ball knock was ornamented with seven fours and two sixes. It was Mushfiqur’s second ODI century. Mushfiqur Rahim reached his 100-run landmark playing 104 deliveries.Mushfiqur Rahim was caught at the deep midwicket by Rohit Sharma when Bangladesh’s score was 276 for the loss of seven wickets.After departure of Anamul Haque, Bangladeshi batsmen failed to build any notable partnership.Anamul Haque knocked a sedate 77 from 106 balls with five boundaries and three over boundaries. It was Anamul Haque’s maiden ODI half century. Anamul fulfilled his fifty-run landmark using 67 balls.Right-arm medium fast bowler Mohammed Shami shone with the cherry grabbing four wickets at the cost of 50 runs.Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin and Varun Aaron took one wicket each for 41, 50 and 74 runs respectively.
