Train communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong was suspended on Friday morning following derailment of three bogies of a train at Noapara rail station in Madhabpur upazila.
Manir Hossain, acting station master of Noapara rail station, said the engine of Sylhet-bound ‘Parabat
Express’ train from Dhaka caught fire when it entered the rail station around 9:54 am.
Three bogies of the train veered off the tracks after the fire incident, halting train movement on the Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chittagong routes. The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately. However, no causality was reported till the filling of this report.
