Train communications of Sirajganj with Ishwardi and Dhaka remained suspended since Friday morning as two bogies of a train derailed at Mahmudpur near Sirajganj bazar.
Ahmed Hossain Masum, additional chief engineer of Bangladesh Railway, said two bogies of Dhaka-bound ‘Sirajganj Express’ train from Ishwardi veered off the tracks around 11 am, halting train movements of Sirajganj with Dhaka and Ishwardi.
The incident might have taken place for damage of rail slippers due to incessant rain for the last several days, railway sources said.
Earlier, a bogie of a Dhaka-bound train derailed in the same area on Wednesday night. Besides, a bogie of ‘Sirajganj Express’ train veered off the track in the same area on Tuesday.
