DC of Chittagong Mezbah Uddin said the patrons of militants derail the youths and wash their brain by misinterpreting Islam. “They are teaching the youth that they would enter the paradise by killing a man,” he added. Mezbah said Allah has not given anyone the authority to kill another using the name of religion. “It is Allah who in the Quran clearly said if any Muslim kills another, he will go to hell,” he added.
The DC said this while addressing village police conference on ‘Curbing Militancy and Terrorism: Role of Village Police’ held at GEC convention hall on Saturday.
Speaking at the function the DC said when religious-minded people of the country were preparing for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Sholakia, the militants launched the attack and undermined the religion and humanity.
He called upon people, particularly the village police of the district to remain alert so that no one could get involved in terrorism and militancy in the name of Islam.Nure- Alam Mina, Superintendent of District police presided over the function while high officials of district police and 1,500 village police participated in the conference.
