2 college students killing: Depositions of three physicians recorded

A Dhaka court yesterday recorded the depositions of three more physicians of Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the case filed by two Jabal-E-Noor Paribahan buses that allegedly raced on the road moments before one of them ploughed into a crowd killing two college students of the capital’s Kurmitolla on July 29.
Metropolitan Sessions Judge Imrul Kayes, recorded the depositions of three physician witnesses and then fixed November 27 for depositions of other
witnesses namely Jabal-e-Noor driver Masum Billah, helper Md Enayet Hossain, and driver Md Jobayer Sumon. Other two witnesses- bus owner Md Jahangir Alam and helper Md Asad Kaze are on the run.
The three witnesses are CMH trainee in Surgery Department Major Rasha Rahman, CO of family wing Lt Col Tania Islam and trainee in Anesthesiology Department Major Md Wali-al-Bari.
Two college students were run over and killed and 12 others injured when on of the two buses ploughed into the crowd. The deaths of Abdul Karim alias Rajibuddin, 18, and Dia Khanam, 17, triggered nationwide student protests for safe road.
On July 13, last year, the court framed charges against the accused discharging their discharge plea.
