SB Inspector murder: Depositions of 2 cops recorded

A Dhaka court on Monday recorded the depositions of two police officials in the murder case of Special Branch Police Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Rahman.
The two witnesses are Sub-Inspector Jahangir Hossain and Golam Mostafa. Judge Sayed Ahmed of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 of Dhaka recorded their depositions. Later, the court fixed June 15 to record the depositions of other witnesses. The court, so far recorded the depositions of 30 witnesses in the case.
Accused Oishee Rahman, daughter of slain police officer was produced in the court on the occasion. Other two accused Asaduzzaman Jony and Mizanur Rahman Rony were also present in the court.
According to the case statement, the decomposed bodies of Mahfuz and Swapna were found at their Chamelibagh residence in the capital on August 16, 2013. Later, Oishee surrendered to the police confessing her guilt in the murder.
On May 6, 2014, a Dhaka court framed charges against Oishee and her two friends Jony and Rony in the case. Meanwhile, a juvenile court on May 20, last year, indicted Khadiza Akher Sumi, domestic help of the house, as she was under 16 when the incident occurred.
