Dengue: One dies, 31 hospitalised

One person died of dengue fever on Thursday and at least 31 other patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 29 are from outside Dhaka.
With the new cases, a total of 1,203 people were diagnosed with dengue during the current month out of the 28,425 infected this year.
Of the total infected, 4,812 are from outside Dhaka.
At least 3,567 dengue patients were diagnosed
in November, 5,458 in October, 7,841 were diagnosed in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May, and the rest are from January to April, according to DGHS.
A total of 105 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. Of them, 12 people died in July while 34 died in August 23 in September 22 in October, seven in November and seven in December so far.
Of them, 94 have died in Dhaka division, four in Mymensingh, and two each in Chattogram and Khulna and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.
Although most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 63 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 29 outside the capital, the DGHS data showed.
