The government has opened a media cell to raise awareness about dengue and rumours.
Operating round the clock, the cell will also provide information about the flood situation and government steps to provide relief and shelter.
To exchange information on dengue, flood and rumours, people have been requested to call landlines: 9512246, 9514988, 9540019, or fax: 9540942, 9540553, or send e-mails to [email protected]. They can also visit the website www.pressinform.govt.bd and Facebook profile ‘PID BD’ and the page of ‘Press Information Department, Bangladesh’.
To know about the treatment of dengue, people can contact the monitoring cell of the Ministry of Health at 01759114488. They can also call Dhaka North City Corporation at 01932665544, and Dhaka South City Corporation at 019611000999.
To learn about the weather condition and natural disaster, people are requested to call toll-free 1090. For information on the flood condition, people have been asked to call 029540701 or 0238234560.
