Speakers at a human chain on Friday protested the recent demolition of two primary schools in the capital.
They said due to the demolition of the two schools-one in Mirpur and the other at Bailey Road, the students are facing trouble while the teachers an uncertainly about their jobs.
Nagorik Sanghati and Amar Odhikar Foundation jointly organised the human chain programme in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday morning protesting the eviction of the educational institutions.
Former Duta general secretary Dr Akhteruzzaman, Amar Odhikar Foundation chairperson Sirajul Dahar, Nagorik Sanghati general secretary Sharifuzzaman Sharif and teacher’s leader Siddiqur Rahman, among others, spoke at the human chain programme.
The speakers said a section is still active and involved in conspiracy to evict more primacy schools from the capital.
