An activist of United People’s Democratic Front (Democratic UPDF) has remained missing for 20 days in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari hill district.
The disappeared man has been identified as Lang Kumar Tripura, 42, son of Padma Kumar Tripur of Jowthakhamar area in Dighinala upazila. He was missing from Yingangchhari area on 21 April.
His son Parishad Tripura (20) and daughter Polina Tripura (15) said, “We did not find our father even
after hectic search. We want to get return of our father immediately.”
Central President of Democratic UPDF Shyamal Kanti Chakma said, “We think that UPDF terrorists led by Prasit Khisha have killed Lang Kumar Tripura after abduction.”
Dighinala Police Station Officer-in-Charge Uttam Chandra said, “No one complained to the police station in this incident. The action will be taken after receiving specific complaints.”
It is became of their internal conflict, on 15 November, 2017, the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) was divided. Since then, incidents of murder and kidnapping continued between the two parties.
