Jatiya Sangsad Speaker and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) hairperson Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has urged the Commonwealth parliament members to grow interests among youths in democratic governance system.
“Democratic governance system is must among the governance systems in current world,” she said in her presidential speech at the general assembly of 62nd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in London on Friday, said an official release.
The Speaker said the CPA is working since its inception for the flourishing of democracy. The present-day students would have to be made aware about the benefits of democracy, she added.
The Speaker said CPA is platform of 185 organizations of parliament members and law enforcers across the world.
