UNB, Dhaka :Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) on Wednesday announced a joint demonstration programme across the country on November 22, protesting the government move to raise the prices of gas and electricity.The programme was announced in a statement signed by CPB president Mujahidul Islam Selim and SPB general secretary Kholiquzzaman.The statement said although it is not economically logical to hike the prices of gas and power at this moment, the government is trying for it under the pressure of the World Bank and Internal Monetary Fund (IMF).Terming the move an ‘anti-people’ one, the statement said people will unite against the move through a movement.CPB and SPB will also jointly hold a protest rally in this regard in the capital on November 24, the statement added.
