Delwar secures Prime Bank’s second win in Premier Cricket

An all-round performance came from Delwar Hossain saw Prime Bank Cricket Club returned the winning track in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating Agrani Bank Cricket Club by 42-run in the sixth round match held on Wednesday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Chasing a winning target of 273 runs set by Prime Bank, Agrani Bank found the chase stiff and dismissed at 230 in 46.5 overs.
Agrani Bank suffered early batting jolt as they slipped 3 for 15. Later, Dhiman Ghosh (73) and Raza Ali Dar ( 42) took the responsibility to stop the rot as they shared an useful 95-run for the four wicket stand to take the team to a comfortable position.
But, after the departure of two set batsmen Agrani Bank could not come back in the match losing wickets in regular intervals. Jahid Javed (48 n.o) and Mohammad Ishak (34) were the other notable batsmen for Agrani Bank.
Delwar Hossain and Rubel Hossain shared three Agrani Bank wickets conceding 41 and 44-runs respectively.
Delwar Hossain of Prime Bank was named the player of the match. Earlier Prime Bank Cricket Club, rode on a strong opening stand, scored a competitive total of 272 for 8 from their allotted 50 overs, after they were forced to bat first by Agrani Bank.
Opener Mehedi Maruf contributed 54 off 66-balls laced with five boundaries and one over boundary while Mehrab Hossain added 52-run off 88-ball that included two fours.
Later, Delwar Hossain blasted an unbeaten 14-ball off 41-run helped Prime Bank to post a challenging target for Agrani Bank.
Shafiul Islam and Raza Ali Dar shared two wickets each conceding 45 and 50 runs respectively.
