The Land Service Week and Land Development Tax Fair has begun in Dupchanchia upazila of Bogura with an aim to enhance land management skills, efficiency and make people aware on their land rights on Wednesday.
Marking the week, the upazila Administration chalked out the elaborate programmes with the theme “Rakhbo Nishkontok Jomi-Bari, Korbo Sobay E-Namjari’ (Our land and home will remain be protected, we will do e-mutation).
In the morning, a rally led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Zakir Hossain was brought out from the UNO office premises and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.
Later, a discussion meeting was also held there with AC (land) Jesmin Prodhan in the chair.
The speakers in their speeches underscored the need for ensuring land service standard and security through the full implementation of automation and digitalization process in land management considering the interest of the people.
They urge land dispute cases are often creating barriers in the way of providing land services to the people and many pragmatic measures had been taken to promote the land related services for the people.
They also urged the concerned officials and employees to be sincerer and professional for making a bridge between land service recipients and providers for ensuring better services so that the land service recipients were not harassed and hurt.
A number of people including senior officials of the upazila administration, and upazila level officials, land officials and staff and journalists including president of press club Golam Faruq of print media took part in the programmes.
BSS from Rangpur reports: Government officials at a discussion have called upon officials and employees concerned to deliver land-related services to the people in a hassle-free manner ensuring accountability and transparency.
They made the call at the post-rally discussion arranged on Wednesday afternoon at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises to begin observance of the Land Service Week and Land Development Tax Fair in the district.
Earlier, officials and employees of government departments and offices, land-related service providers and civil society members brought out a rallyorganised by District Administration.
The week-long Land Development Tax Fair was also simultaneously inaugurated at Upazila Assistant Commissioner (AC-Land) Office, Union Land Office and municipality office premises all over the district.
The people are getting land-related digitised services like e-mutation, paying land development tax, submitting applications for Khas land and review petitions of different land related cases and getting instant disposals of the prayers in the fairs.
Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Joynul Bari addressed the discussion as the chief guest with Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib, Deputy land-reform Commissioner Arzoo Ara Begum, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Syed Enamul Kabir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharif Muhammad Foyezul Alam, Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Chhonda Paul and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ishraat Sadiya Sumi, among others, addressed.
The speakers suggested the land-related service providers to become skilled enough to eliminate all sorts of corruptions and red-tape complexities through delivering land-related services to the people adopting the digitised e-management systems.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: A weeklong land development revenue fair began here in the city aims at easing the land services and reaching those towards the peoples doorsteps together with sensitizing the mass-people about digitalization of land services on Wednesday.
Office of the district administration organised the fair at Boalia Land office premises at Borokuthi area showcasing various land related services and information.

Jakir Hossain said our land is limited its uses must be planned way. Utmost importance should be given on misuse of lands.
He urged all concerned including the field level officers and staffs to deliver land-related services to the people in a hassle-free manner through ensuring accountability and transparency.

He told the meeting that the present government is very much strict against corruption and none would go unpunished if he or she found to be guilty in delivering land-related services.
