A two-member delegate of West Indies arrived in the city on Saturday to inspect the conditions of Bangladesh ahead the series between Bangladesh and West Indies, which is scheduled to be held in January in Bangladesh. Cricket West Indies sent the delegates.
The two delegates are Dr. Akshai Mansingh, who is a director and medical team member of the Cricket West Indies and also the ICC medical team and the other is Paul Sloway, who is the security and safety manager.
Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nizamuddin Chowdhury said BCB wants to complete the tour in a short time. While the tour was originally slated to have three Tests, three ODIs and two T20Is, but there is a possibility that Bangladesh and West Indies will play two Tests in order to accommodate the tour schedule within a short period.
Due to coronavirus pandemic seven months was haled Bangladesh’s cricket. Later, Bangladesh’s cricket returned to the field through the 50-over BCB President’s Cup. Now the Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket is getting underway at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
BCB had already sent a bio-bubble plan to Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the health authorities of the government and was awaiting a feedback before making the final decision.
