A court here will record on October 28 the deposition of defence witnesses in a case filed in connection with the killing of 12-year-old boy Rakib in torture by his former employer over quitting job.
Metropolitan Session’s Judge Dilruba Sultana fixed the date on Monday after completing recording the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses.
On the same day, the court will also hear the accused in the case.
Earlier on Sunday, chief investigation officer Kazi Moshtak Ahmed and Dr Ohid Mahmud, who
conducted the postmortem on the body of Rakib, made their deposition before the court.
Advocate Mominul Islam, a lawyer appointed by the plaintiff of the case, said 38 witnesses out of total 40 have made their deposition before the court.
The defence counsel, Advocate Touhidur Rahman Tushar, cross-examined the witnesses on Monday.
On August 3, Rakib, who used to work at a motorcycle garage at Tutpara Central Road in Khulna city, was tortured to death allegedly by his former employer over quitting job.
