Participants at a discussion in the city on Monday called upon all pro-liberation forces to forge unity against the elements now conspiring against the state in many ways.
They said the defeated forces of 1971 under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia are again hatching conspiracy against the country.
Speaking at the discussion “Bengali Nationhood-Independence”, they stressed the need for greater unity of the progressive and pro-liberation forces to undo their conspiracy.
Bangabandhu Parishad organized the discussion at Sagor-Runi Auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) in the capital’s Segunbagicha with its General Secretary Doctor S A Malek in the chair.
Among others, former Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University Dr Anwar Hossain, Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA), Journalist Shahfiqur Rahman and Advocate Abdus Salam took part in the discussion.
