Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said the defeated forces of 1971 are committing terrorism and militant activities across the country those who were involved with the assassination of 1975 and killed national four leaders.
To halt the ongoing development of the country, the defeated forces again engaged in terrorism and militancy, the minister said this on Saturday while speaking at an anti terrorism and militancy meeting held at Nabakumer Institute in the city.
The militants try to make the country dysfunctional, the minister said that ‘they ( defeated forces of 1971) have started hatching conspiracies again to tarnish the international image of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina achieved over the years following Bangladesh’s progress in education and information and technology sectors as well as the country’s self-reliance in food output’.
Terming the country as ‘our mother’ he called upon everyone to teach the students about the real history of the liberation war adding ‘without knowing the country’s real birth history none can be grown up as a good citizen’.
General Secretary of Dhaka City Corporation (south) Awami League Shahe Alam Murad, senior police officers, civil society members and the teachers and students of the Nabakumer Institute attended the function, among others.
