Two defamation cases have been filed against Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sayeed Khokon.
A woman named Hazi Mamtaz Islam filed the cases on Thursday.
Plaintiff’s lawyer Eklas Uddin Bhuiyan said that the two defamation cases were filed with the court of chief metropolitan
magistrate Mazharul Haque and fourth assistant judicial court.
According to the case statement, Mayor Sayeed Khokhon was threatening and insulting Mamtaz Islam over a piece of land at Anandabazar in the capital despite of the court’s stay order. For this reason, she (Mamtaz Islam) filed a TK 5 crore two defamation cases against the Mayor.
