UNB, Savar :
A deed writer was shot to death by miscreants at Ghospara in Savar municipality of Dhaka district on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Azad Rashid, 55, son of Abdur Rashid of Sub-Registry Office area of the municipality.
Witnesses said, Azad came under attack by a group of miscreants while he was returning home from Ghospara at about 8:30am. Miscreants fired two bullets at Azad, leaving him injured critically. Injured Azad was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
On information, police visited the spot and arrested the victim’s maternal uncle, Abul Hossain, for his suspicious involvement in the killing as there had been a longstanding dispute between Azad and him over the ownership of a piece of land.
