Economic Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Mashiur Rahman emphasised the need for dedicated works of the port officials and workers to sustain the normal trends of the import export trade.
He mentioned it while addressing a seminar arranged at World Trade Centre in Chattogram at a seminar on Roadmap Chattogram Division on Monday as Chief Guest.
Sub -committee on Finance and Planning, Bangladesh Awami League organised the seminar patronised by Chattogram Chamber of Commerce.
He said the importers of Khulna face inconveniences for transportation of goods from Chattogram by truck with high fares. In the meantime, coastal pact signed with the India for easy coastal transportation of consignment.
Member of Parliament Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury in his brief deliberations said Chattogram Port activities going fast and the capital dredging in port channel begins in the meantime.
President of the seminar Mahbubul Alam, President of Chattogram Chamber Mabbubul Alam emphasised the need of headquarters of five commercial banks in the port city for turning the commercial capital.
