Chittagong Bureau :
Halda River Rights Preservation Committee demanded declaration of Halda River as a national heritage as it is the only natural fish breeding zone in the sub-continent.
This was disclosed at a meeting as arranged by the committee at a local hotel on Monday . The speakers in the meet said all irrespective party and opinions should go ahead for the preservation of the Halda river as a natural fish breeding centre in Chittagong .
Chairman of the committee Prof.l Md.Sekander Khan presided over the meeting . Among others, founder and adviser of Halda Rakkha Committee Abu Yousuf, Vice President and Bureau Chief of Channel-I Chowdhry Farid, Vice President Md. Kamal Parvez, Prof. of Chittagong University Forestry and Environmental science Department Md.Mosharraf Hossain , Asstt. Prof. Humayun Kabir spoke in it.
