Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Wednesday said the government will consult the National Technical Advisory Committee before taking decision about use of China developed Covid-19 vaccine.
“It is yet to decide about use of the China produced Covid-19 vaccine in our country. The government is observing the effectiveness of vaccines in different countries and will take the best decision in time,” the minister said.
Zahid Maleque said it while talking to journalists
at the secretariat during a press briefing.
Replying to a query about appointing of new Director General for the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), he said the Public Administration Ministry will take appropriate measures to accept the resignation letter of Abul Kalam Azad as he was grade-1 official.
“The health ministry will then appoint a new DG after his file is shifted from the Public Administration Ministry,” the minister said.
He said also that the government is initiating to form a new taskforce that will regularly inspect irregularities and mismanagement in health related institutes including hospitals and clinics in the country.
