A person has been arrested over the gruesome murder of four members of a family at Kalaroa in Satkhira.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested him. He is known as Raihanul Islam, younger brother of slain Shahinur Rahman. Anisur Rahman, special police super of Satkhira CID, confirmed the matter on Friday.
The SP said, “Raihanul Islam Raihan was sent to jail through Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday.”
Kolaroa Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Haran Chandra Pal said Shahinur Rahman’s mother-in-law Moyna Begum filed a murder case with Kolaroa Police Station accusing unidentified persons for the murder on Thursday night. The case number is 14. The case was handed over to the CID in the morning for investigation.
Earlier, Shahinur Rahman’s mother-in-law Moyna Begum filed a murder case at about 10:00pm on Thursday.
After postmortem, the bodies of four deceased were buried on Thursday night.
It may be mentioned that police recovered throat-slit bodies of hatchery owner Shahinur Rahman, 40, his wife Sabina Khatun, 30, son Siam Hossain Mahi, 9, and Tasnim, 6, from their house at village Khulshu under Kolaroa upazila in Satkhira district on Thursday morning.
