Debiganj upazila under Panchagarh district was freed from Pakistan occupation army on December 9 in 1971.
The day will be celebrated in a befitting manner in the upazila on Wednesday.
On December 9 in 1971valiant freedom fighters freed the upazila from Pakistan occupation army by hoisting national flag of Bangladesh in the town in front of Ansar-VDP office.
The Pakistan occupation army retreated to Sayedpur from Debiganj on the day.
With the confirmation of victory, people poured into the upazila town and rejoiced the occasion chanting slogans ‘Joy Bangla’.
