Debasish, Ruhul elected President, Secy of BES

Bangladesh Entomological Society (BES) has been formed a 20-member working committee. The eminent entomologist and Director General of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) Dr. Debasish Sarker elected as President and Professor Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Department of Entomology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur elected as General Secretary. The elected committee will conduct the overall activities of BES for the next two (02) years.
The working committee was formed at the 11th Biennial Conference of BES held at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council auditorium, Dhaka on Friday, May 13, 2022. Honorable Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, was present as chief guest at the conference and Executive Chairman of BARC Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Bokhtiar was present as special guest. Former president of the BES Dr. Syed Nurul Alam was presided over the function.
The other elected members of BES are Senior Vice-President- Prof. Dr. Mahbuba Jahan, Department of Entomology of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh; Vice-President- Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Department of Entomology of Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur; Joint Secretary- Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman Sarkar, Principal Scientific Officer of Entomology Division of BARI; Treasurer- Dr. Mohammad Dalower Hossain Prodhan, Senior Scientific Officer of Entomology Division of BARI; Publication Secretary- Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Maleq, Department of Entomology of Sylhet Agricultural University; Social Welfare and Cultural Secretary- Dr. Md. Ataur Rahman, Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute, Pabna. In addition, 12 prominent entomologists from various universities, research institutes and non-governmental organizations have been elected as honorable member of BES.
