Death toll from flood stands at 107

The ongoing flood claimed seven more lives in Netrakona and Lalmonirhat districts in 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the total fatalities to 107.
All the deceased died by drowning and flood related diseases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the total deceased, 80 people died by drowning in floodwater, 15 from lightning strikes, two from snake-bite, one from diarrhoea, and nine due to other reasons.
The total deaths were recorded from May 17 to July 4.
DGHS said, about 12, 457 people have been affected by flood related diseases.
Since beginning of flood, about 7,980 have been affected by diarrhea and one died, 522 people affected by RTI (Eye diseases) where no death recorded.
A total of 106 people, including 11 in Rangpur division, 39 in Mymensingh division, 56 in Sylhet division and one in Dhaka division, died in the floods from May 17 to July 4, the statement said.
Sunamganj tops the list of district-wise deaths. Between May 17 and July 4, 28 people died here. 18 people have died in Sylhet district. Five people died in Habiganj and Moulvibazar. 17 people died in Netrokona and 9 in Jamalpur. 6 people have died in Mymensingh. Besides, 7 people died in Sherpur, 4 in Kurigram and 7 in Lalmonirhat. One person died in Tangail.
