Dhaka University (DU) former Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Liberation War Museum trustee Ziauddin Tariq Ali.
In a condolence message on Monday, he said Tariq Ali’s death has created a vacuum in the arena of conserving the memories of the great Liberation War and that void will never be filled.
His contribution to the Liberation War Museum will always keep generation to generation connected with him, the former VC added.
Prof Arefin, also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, said Tariq Ali played a significant role in bringing the Liberation War Museum to today’s position from almost zero level by conserving the memories of the great Liberation War, its different components, equipment and contexts.
Tariq Ali’s contribution to this field will always be remembered by the nation, he added.
He prayed for eternal peace of departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to bereaved family.
