Dhaka University former Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Dr Kazi Afroza Jahanara, a retired professor of the university’s Institute of Education and Research (IER).
In a condolence message on Sunday, he said Dr Kazi Afroza had a lot of contributions to the university’s different areas including education and research. Her role as a syndicate member in university’s overall development activities will never be forgotten, he added.
Prof Arefin, also chairman of the board of directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), said Prof Afroza’s death has created a deep vacuum in the field of education which will not be filled easily.
He also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Dr Kazi Afroza Jahanara died today at her house in capital’s Dhanmondi area at the age of 68.
