State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam on Friday expressed profound shock and sorrow due to the death of Ekushey padak recipient Polan Sarker, a social activist of Rajshai region. He wished eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
In a condolence message, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs said the nation has lost an excellent social worker due to the death of Polan Sarker. “Polan Sarker organized an innovative education movement at twenty villages in Rajshahi,” said the State Minister, saying that he [Polan Sarker] distributed books among the backward village people with his own money. His contribution will be remembered by the nation including the local people, the State Minister added.
